My family and I spent a few days in a hut. We rented a car for this trip, which was something special since we usually don't use cars. So, in my children's lives, this car held a special place. Throughout the day, my eight-year-old daughter told me what the car was doing: sleeping, eating, playing. Sometimes it was bored. Most of the time, her story reflected what we were doing.
But that wasn't fantasy. For my daughter, it was part of her reality, part of the magical world she was living in. It's one of the spectacular aspects of being a parent, to observe the worlds that children are creating and living in.
Last week, we discussed the important shift between outwardly oriented and inwardly driven minds. Today, I want to discuss a different aspect of this shift: our relationship to our own worldview.
