Healing: the first step into our power
We are complete and precious, the way we are. Healing is nothing more than returning to ourselves, rediscovering our wholeness. It brings joy, vitality, and energy back into our lives.
Healing, similar to the German word 'heil', comes from 'whole', meaning entire.
We are already whole. We are complete and precious, the way we are. To heal doesn't mean to get back into a state of wholeness; it means realizing that we were always and are still whole. Even in the process of dying, we can realize this wholeness.
We are disintegrated, having forgotten our wholeness.
Healing is nothing more than returning to ourselves by integrating all the aspects of our lives that we try to eliminate or avoid: old experiences, trauma, and difficulties. As we heal, the idealized image we have of ourselves gives way to the richness of the lives we live.
Being fragmented and disconnected with ourselves means we lose a lot of energy and vitality, which is the source of so many of our current sicknesses. Rediscovering our wholeness brings joy, vitality, and energy back into our lives.

Returning to ourselves is something very different from what we commonly understand as healing. It starts with the fundamental insight that we already have at hand everything we need in order to heal. Healing is a process that works from the inside, guided by the wisdom of our self and our body, if we allow them to teach us. They will point us to whatever we need to face and acknowledge, attracting all the support we might need. We merely have to trust, and that's one of the most challenging things to learn on the way.
Healing is the process of taking your life into your own hands and taking responsibility for everything you do, think, choose, and act upon. It's a process of self-leadership, with the goal of gaining autonomy and agency. There are many offers of support, help, teaching, and coaching in the world, and plenty of ways to spend your money and time. It's important to understand that most of this doesn't help. It will often distract you and allow you to lose your path and focus.
All those offers of support can be roughly sorted into three categories.
Some people learned something meaningful for their lives and now think everyone ought to do the same. So they offer this as their teaching.
Some realized that there are several ways to climb a mountain, having learned and applied different methodologies. They offer tailored support and accompaniment.
A few understood that all life is unique, carrying everything it needs to realize its full potential. They know that true accompaniment means holding a space with the potential to allow for that realization, a space that's free from their own ego structures, models, and perceptions.
Now the rule is straightforward: avoid the first by all means. The second might offer you something to learn, but be mindful of whether you really resonate with them. Most often it's your ego that tries to control the game. The third are those that will take you further. But they will only show up when you are ready for this kind of work.
Take everything in your life as an expression of your mind and a gateway to your true self. This is what you can do in every moment of your life. Especially look out for those experiences you dislike, those who are uncomfortable, or even painful. They are the most valuable teachers you can have.
